Cash mojo back

Hey

I was playing 12 tables as well at the time and felt in the zone which is a brilliant thing. The reason i felt so good was that i moved up the limits to 1/2$ and 0.5/1£ and found the more money on the line gave me a buzz which improved my game a lot and made me sniff out bluffs and make good ones on the regular. I am looking forward to coupling this with my evening tourney grind as the cash games could fund the tourney entries each day so i am effectively freerolling, which would be amazing because with no pressure being on how expensive the tourney is, i can play it any way i want, and it may improve my results.

Its five to 9 in the morning now and i have just finished the cash grind and am knackered, will get some sleep in now and looking forward to tonight and some big monies hopefully. Good luck to you all.

Peace.

5th in the $20K GTD on littlewoods

Hey

The title says it all with a very nice win in this tournament for $1400. This doesn't tell you the whole story however as i am down around $1000 on parbet but up £350 on will hill since my last post so a decent profit. I ignored my advice on the parbet account and played most of the tournies going instead of three which meant i was playing poorly in most and never felt an urge to play properly. The less amount of tournies to play the more i concentrate on them and play well. My tourney grind sort of looks like this now.

18.00 £500 GTD Rebuy (crypto)
18.30 $6500 GTD (microgaming)
19.30 Super series Mon/Sun/Weds (William Hill)
19.35 $5000 GTD (Cassava)
20.00 £9K GTD (crypto)
20.00 $20K GTD (microgaming)
20.35 $20K GTD (Cassava)
21.10 £7K GTD (Crypto)
21.30 $9 rebuy (party poker)
22.00 £1400GTD (Crypto)
22.00 $17.5K GTD (microgaming)

*note - I will be playing ipoker when crypto closes as that is where william hill will be laying its hat after. With the big american sites like Bodog, UltimateBet, Full Tilt and Pokerstars, i am biding my time and will stick to the european rooms for now. The grind stands at £200ish for buy ins.

My bankroll is at £6400 at the minute so i am pleased i would like to have a total of£52000 in the bank by the end of the year not including what i have withdrawn so i will need to make £70000 most probably for me to succeed. If i have this bankroll going into next year then i will be playing much more live tournaments and will hope to strike lucky and skyrocket bankroll wise.

I will be playing between 9-12 tables at a time, and if i don't make those numbers in the tournaments above listed, i will grind on the 0.25/0.50 cash games to make the amount of tables rise. I haven't really ever played cash with tournies at the same time and it may well feel funky when i try it later on today. But hopefully it will be fine and i can earn some nice wedge.

All figured out

Hey

Decided now i know whats happening. I have lost $500 on parbet tonight and it opened my eyes to how im not the best low limit tourney player (£20-£10) tournies and i am a small winner in these. I notice however my returns from the big buy in tournies have been extremely profitable so i will be playing these only from now on with the $1500 left in my parbet account. This is extrmeley high risk as i will be spending around $140 daily and even more on sunday as its around $240. Hopefully i will get a cash in in one of these though.

This will be the "gambling" account and to be honest i am prepared to lose these funds. My style is such that i am pushing for the final table every time i play and i am not afraid to get my stack in on a bluff if i think it will get through more often than not. This means i could go a while without a win, but when it comes it could be a big win. I have already cashed out $2000 from this account with the big win last week so i am effectively freerolling. A little reckless i know but i need that excitement to accompany the cash grind i will be doing on the other accounts with the £2000 i have left to play on cash (£3000 in d bank though) so i will be grinding 12 tables on whatever site i feel like.

I may sound like a hypocrite i know with saying i was gonna be an icon for money management but i know i have an edge on these crypto tournies so i am prepared to play them even if i shouldn't be money wise. Anyway i could make more money available if i really needed to but i hope that a big win comes.

Reports will come in on how the bigger tournies have fared and on my low limit grinding. The lowest i am going is $10 buy ins on the 6 max tables, i should go lower on some accounts i have as its only 10-20 buy insbut i am hoping i can do well regardless.

So that is that now, the foundations are set. The blogs will be getting slightly more interesting now as its gonna be all about poker instead of everything around it. I will be getting in some hand histories as well that are interesting, but i may hold back on the hand histories that divulge too much information on the way i play, but saying that i may be in a gloating mood one day and do it anyway lol.

By the way to you poker fans that like boxing, Gus Hansen is fighting Theo Jorgensen at 21.00 local time tonight. How this came about i have no idea, but it should be interesting to watch. It's airing on www.gushansentv.com - GusTV - its free as well which is nice, so i may well be watching that.

For me anyways i am getting a couple of hours sleep in until i am off to play the student £50 event at a casino in reading meating up with "fenix" whose blog i read to play for a laugh and have some good times in the bars of reading, as playing online in your bedroom non stop for so long can be fucking tedious!

Bankroll Management!

Hey

I had a problem tonight of going bust in my Devilfish poker account, well 114 euros from 500 and nothing in bluesquare which had $500 in it. In both i played tournaments that were just to big a buy in to play on such a small roll and have hence decided that i am not looking to redeposit on any site ever again starting today. So i am going to be playing a 20 buy in rule for all the rooms until i can move up limits and get comfortable. It will also show me the value of money in starting real low and building my way up. It would make me feel less inclined to just spew and be quick off the mark to redeposit. It will force me to slow down and play properly on all sites as i can't afford not to. Of course i will redeposit if i really have to but this shouldn't happen and i am quietly confident i will have huge rolls on every site i am playing on.

To build the rols i will be grinding cash tables or low limit multi table sngs. On eeach room i would only put a small amount in, say $200 and play really low to build that up to a fortune. On stars and full tilt i have it made in that i am good at the multi table sngs they have that run regularly so i can see a rise happening from them. On other sites it will be more tricky as i will be making a slower rise through the cash games, hopefully not becoming too tedious. I will be allowed to take 1/20 buy in shots at tournaments as well.

I have 64$ in pokerstars, 100$ in full tilt, 144 euros in devilfish, £247 in Littlewoods, $2000 in parbet, and £1500 in will hill. The latter two is where i will be making my serious wedge for the meantime in tournies or higher limit cash games but whenever im craving a different setting i will happily build my rolls in the other rooms. I am feeling quietly confident about this one. And from today onwards also marks my record keeping for my bankrolls, so recklessness can be limited, on my niece's birthday as well, how sweet! lol By the way apologies for the boring post i will make em more interesting in the future with exciting analysis of tournies but atm im just setting the foundations for my meteroric rise to the top, and if i get em right there should be no stopping me!

Confused with what to do with myself

Hey

I am in a prediciment with what to do. I don't know what forum of poker will be best to bolster my bankroll. At the moment sit and gos are out of the equation as i am not using a site that run these plentifully. So it is out of the tow juggernauts to battle it out and these are the cash games and the tournies. Both have their plusses and their weaknesses, which i will explain now.

Tournies - These are amazing as the thrill of winning one is unmatched. You play for hours and each strategic move you made culminated in you winning a tournament, it is a lovely feeling and one i want to feel again and again. Tournies are also seemingly more easy than cash games, as cash draws in better players with the guarentee of steadier profits and less swings. Also with tournies one bad move and it's over which makes it easier to prey on players who are poor, or who may play well for a long time but have one moment of madness that you can take advantage of. It's all about discipline and knowing when to make the moves. It's about keeping an eye on your stack compared to the blind levels, keeping an eye on when the bubble is approaching so you can beat up the short stacks. Knowing when to fold when you know your beat or when its mathematically right to do so as its too early on in a tourney to gamble. So many different factors to conceive and with these variables come the skill element and i feel at home on the tourney scene.

However, the major downfall is how you can spend up to 6 hours playing and come 30th for only a little over double your buy in when 1st pays nearly 50 times it or whatever. The swings are dreadful and the most annoying thing to deal with is a bad beat after hours of play hindering you from taking the money you deserve. You don't get this problem with cash, and that is why you find a lot of good players resorting to it as its a more secure income. But if tourney players never had this to contend with, then big wins wouldn't taste so sweet. Besides, if you get bad beated on there is nothing you can do and top players don't feel too bad about this spot, only when they have been outplayed or have made a mistake resulting in the exiting of a tourney. That is when it hurts and the better player reviews the situtation and tries to learn how to react better next time.

Cash Game - Well this can bore the fuck out of me, as the limits i play at are so methodical and generic, the same moves mean the same thing and the variation is really limited. Post flop play can get a little steamy sometimes tho and that is a plus. Also the fact you can grind little profits consistently and earn loadsa rakeback playign on 12 tables is an appealing commodity. But it doesn't have that X factor for me. Perhaps if i could move up the stakes in cash and play games that had more depth, against better players then maybe i could earn more and be more thrilled by the game. But it seems i have chosen a winner for now.

This is the TOURNEY GRIND of course. I am going to be playing tournies from £55 to $10 on the ipoker network and the cryptologic network, to a max of 12 tables a time and see how it goes. It may only last 4 days if i win nothing and variation smacks me around the face and has me as her bitch, but i will hope for the best and keep you guys posted. By the way platonic if you a reading this post some more you lazy gruffnutt!

Uh Oh

Hey

Sinking feeling has cometh. Lost $550 in the last two days since my big win, and that is largely down to not finishing a final table properly, being poised for first but getting third instead, missing out in the valuable leaps in prize money. Mor discipline needed but it will happen as i see myself maturing every time i play. With the Sunday 35K tonight for example i felt i played flawlessly except for one hand. I was getting value from good hands, and making sure i didn't have to showdon my bad ones. I was in the comfort zone and when i am feeling like that i need to get unlucky to not make a final table, and that is when it hit me.....

What can i do? Tis variance hurting me. If i won both pots i would have been chip leader and cruising with a big stack and playing powerfully to boot. But if these beats didn't happen the same people would win a tournament day after day and no fish would ever play, so where is the profitability or fun in that, plus variety is the spice of life right? lol

Tomorrow onwards i am setting a routine which will probably be broken quicker than i have spent towards demising it and that is to play only three crypto tournies a night amounting to £100, the £55, £33 and the $25 Late action $1.8K GTD but i will be playing the super series when they are on as well. Otherwise its pure cash games and trying to make a huge amount in rakeback and in normal profits. Going to be intriguing to find a new playing field when crypto closes. I quite like the homely feel in this network that you always see the familiar faces playing the tournies on here and the amounts playing each aren't too many which lowers variance, and makes you feel you have accomplished more as making a final table is a lot easier. I may try and find a network with tournies whereby only 400 max can enter as it may be easier for me to win. A site that isn't as big as pokerstars but isn't too small either will be ideal with fishy cash games to couple the fishy tourney ones, but i guess what is fishy at the end of the day? I guess defining a fish is someone who you can read so well that you make a profit on him more often than not? Or is it someone who has no winning strategy and you win just as much from them. Either way if you have an edge you should play, and i am looking to do this in the tourney fields and the cash games.

Another point is that i have managed to work out how to set up two monitors from my laptop to play on more poker tables, so i have the capability to play on 21 tables if i please. But i am debating whether or not this is realistic. 12 tables is very comfortable for me and i can get a hefty rake amount from it but i will be pushing to play on more tables, and hopefully with time 21 tables will become second nature, and if it does, i could be a MMM (Money-Making-Machine). I need to be to stay on with the lofty £52K for the year i am proposing. Would love to smash that but if i do meet it i can't complain because i would be earning double what most people earn without having to pay tax. So bring on the next few weeks and ultimately the year, and lets be having som rele good results and some proper professional guile to couple this.

Peace.

£9K GTD win, Thank You!

Hey ho peeps

In a good mood tonight as i have just won £2700 in the £9K GTD playing solid poker and having my hands hold over and over again when put to the test, which is surprising and what you need to happen to win such a sum of money. This helps me out big time as i have a nice safety net to grind the 0.25/0.50p limits without having any stress, then when my br and skill level allows me, i will make the step up and up and up until i am another Tom Dwan killing the high stakes. It can happen and i am going for it as i have no real expenditure as i live with my parents and get no tax on winnings. Don't have to pay rent either beacause its a house rule that while you're a student its hard enough to make ends meet regardless :P doesn't apply to me but i will take it :D

I could display some skillfull hands from tonight, the ones that hold the secret to a good tourney player, but i don't want you knowing that now do i? So i am just gonna give you some generic hand histories from tonight :)

Hewre i milk sumone hardcore.

There you go, happy with how i dealt with adversity and i showed true patience to deal with the hardest adversary, turns out this heads up opponent wasn't the best, which was good for me, but here you can see he could have easily have taken it away from me if i slipped up once or if my luck just wasn't in. Cheers for reading!

Peace.

GRR

Hey

Just lost £80 on 15 tables in about 30 mins and stopped for a break. I tiled £60 of it away on a AK suited hand i should have got away from pre flop but decided to call an all in and lost to AA. Not too happy about that and that hand came as soon as i started, so it caught me cold. Just shows you how you have to be on the ball all the time. I am going to be only playing cash for the most part now on crypto and if i do play tournies i will have them running alongside the cash. Up to 18 tables at a time is the goal.

I am also going to start a strict bankroll record system of jotting down my account balance after each sesh. I will post up the results sporadically, and hopefully it will make for easy reading to those of you who want to see me do well. That is all for the moment guy cheers.

Peace.

My cash game leaks and plusses

Hey

Hmm had an intriguing cash game session now, was on 12 tables and showed some real class coupled with pure trash. My class was in milking value out of hands i knew i was ahead in and also folding big hands pre flop because i didn't like the spot i was in, QQ being an example. But as this isn't interesting i am getting to the bad plays. Ended the session £100 down i believe but not too sure of exact numbers.

i thought that if he had a 4 on the flop he was not re raising me, so i had him on AK (which had me beat but weren't too sure) AQ-A10 so i thought the re re raise was decent in finding out where i was, not too unhappy with tht play. But come the river i was unhappy with the all in call i made. It was disguised as a bluff and i called because i was tilting slightly from losing a £120 pot with AA against KK all in pre flop. Lesson learned.
But at the same time as those two monstrosoties happened i had this

after he raised to £20 i should be getting out of there but fuming from the beats on the other tables i was lookking for a quick fix, annoyingly i spunked my profits and turned it into a loss with these hands. Discipline is needed in getting away from situtations most people can't and that is what a pro needs to do. I have that sense of feel at the table whereby i often know where i am at in any given situation but sometimes it gets marred by losing a big pot on another table or making a play becos its the "right thing to do" as opposed to actually following gut feeling.

here i thought in my gut i was ahead but the maths behind it was that i should fold. If he was bluffing i would only lose £14 as opposed to a buy in if he wasn't and i got involved. Had this guy down as an abc player and had no idea he was capable of playing tricky. Happy he showed because i will approach him differently and make myself profitable in doing so. I have "ReRazor" down as a donk on these limits on crypto as he seems to be a wee bit of a gambler as seen in the hand i am going to put up, also he felt willing to berate me after i announced i folded QQ pre flop thinking with it you should auto shove all in pre flop with it, which just isn't right.

Back from the DTD

Hey

Played the £330 deepstack at Nottingham this weekend. Back now and would have to say i was impressed with the structure of the tournament and of the amount of players playing, also with the standard of play there. Many a fish playing this and the player i go out to is an example of one. I saw some truly below par things that make me want to live in Nottingham so i can play the cash games there on the regular as well as the tournies becos i bet there are primarily fish there. A bit of a prejudice statement but it has left a lasting taste in my mouth.

The exiting hand anyway went like this. Blinds at 1000/2000 my stack is 30000, i'm utg and raise 5500 with AK suited. Get called by the chip leader only in the small blind and we see a A 3 5 flop. I'm putting him on a picture card range so i am hoping for a bluff at me at any time. He checks out and i check behind despite the straight draw on. Turn comes a 2 which puts a four card straight out there and he bets out half my remaining stack (10000) and i sort of insta go all in as i cant put him on a straight, a two pair is nigh on impossible because normally you would get no call with A3 A5 A2 23 35 34 24, he could have a set with 22, 33, 55 and i will pay him off for that, also maybe 44 for the straight. Despite this i have the guy on AQ-A8, because i can see him calling with this, and i see the 10000 bet as a sort of bluffing sorta i want you out of the pot bet, but i read wrong as he turns over a dominating hand in A3. turn comes a A and i am gone. Dissappointed with my play here as i could have picked a better spot and accepted that i can just give up the 5500 already invested, but through tilt and bad judgement i shoved. Shocked he would call pre flop with A3 but that is the standard of play i came across and will be happy to play future monthly deepstacks there.

Online at the minute i am not playing because my house internet is down and i have to rely on my vodaphone mobile internet which is too unreliable for playing 12 tables as i reconnect every second but its fine to use on blogs which is good news for you guys i guess :) My bankroll has gone down over the past few weeks and i am not happy about this. The plan is play cash non stop all day and at night combine em with the tournies on crypto looking for a big win. So that is a little round up of my weekend and will hope to get more posts up as soon as i get my home internet up and running to play a mentalist amount of hands, hoping around 1000 an hour. Looking forward to it and to keep blogging on here.

Peace.

The guy that cried Rape!

Hey

Title sums it up really. Yesterday i lost £500. Absolutely sick run of cards where i am getting my money in behind on too many an occasion with an overpair to a lower board where they make a set, or having JJ to a low board and getting dicked by QQ upwards. Just been getting it hardcore and i am surprised i am showing the willpower to continure to play somewhere near my best and i haven't tilted at all really except on one occasion going all in pre with AK, which can't really be called a tilt but i hardly ever do that in cash.

The plan now is to break even for the week. My rakeback should be mammoth for these limits as i am playing on 12-16 tables. It should be around £400 hopefully, so if i make £100 between now and tuesday i will take a break even week. What i might do however is play cash all day and from 8pm onwards grind every tourney going on crypto, as they won't be here in two months time, and i play them at a high success rate. A real find is how easy the £55 and £33 biggy tournies on crypto are. I have final tabled them quite a few times and the amount i have won is a nice sum. If i can win a few more races i hope to take both down at least once before Crypto closes its doors. Dunno what i am going to do when that fateful day comes.......probs settle in a nice little corner in my room get on the floor, pull my knees to my chest and sway in a demonic motion like a complete mentalist.

Just to rectify playing on 12-16 tables is NOT the reason i have lost so much recently, it is definately because my time has come to face variance, and it is a test of how much of a man i am to come through this and persevere by winning more in the future.

Haven't posted in a while and since i posted my bankroll its safe to say i am only down what i lost yesterday which is annoying because i have effictively earned nothing, but its nice to know that when i do have a bad run of cards that i will have to have a complete spazzo attack for me to be down on any given week becos my rakeback is so big. Starting monday i am going for possibly the world record of how much rakeback you can earn at the 0.25/50p limits as i look to get past the £500 number, with a 6 hour session daily on 16 tables. Will Hill are gonna love me! I say this but whenever i do a tourney grind i am never playing on many tables so this may slow the rake rate a little but will probs up the profit rate as i get on with doing over some muppets who think they can play tourney poker. There are quite a few tricks involved with tournies that i adhere to and am shocked to see others aren't. It's scary what i can get away with and find myself running late into many tournies because of this knowhow. If i told you everything i had in the locker though, you would see me at the tables and disect me time and time again, so that will have to stay secret. But what i do have to do is to start taking down some serious tournies to prove that i am a good player. Maybe i will publish a book with these secrets, i dunno :)

The account "Gaughan" i opened on parbet was a lovely sidetrack to my normal account on hills as players were donking more chips off to me as they haven't got me down as a nit. I had some huge success on it. The reason i did change account however was to pursue a rake race the room had going where the top 60 players were all in with a chance for chelsea vip hospitality tickets. If i disclosed that for everyone on here i thought maybe the race would be harder :) I never really went for it tbh and just nicked a freeroll position whereby i will have to fend off 39 other ppl in a 40 man freeroll for the 2 prizes they are giving away. That is on tonight, would love the tickets as my bro is a chelsea fan and he will cream at the opportunity to see his beloved in style.

Will promise to update this regularly. Good luck to you all and hopefully a little more for myself will come!

peace.
